Is your computer running much slower than it once used to? This how-to article will describe a few simple steps that you can take to quickly speed up your computer back to the way it was when you first took it out of its box.

(1). This is the In this step, we are going to remove needless startup items from your computer. Many programs today have what are called “Background Processes” which are future to speed up the program and perk up program presentation. However, if they are slowing down your computer, you do not want them administration in the background. Please read the “Tips and Warnings” before ongoing. To start this process, first go to the START button in the bottom left hand corner, click on “Run”, type ‘msconfig’ and press “OK”.

(2). we will be using this utility to remove startup items. If you have followed STEP 1 properly, you should now have a window open titled “System pattern Utility”. This is a very authoritative tool plus should be used with care. To ensure that no data loss occurs, make sure that you have an up-to-date backup before continuing.

(3). as you can see, I personally have a few startup items selected. Once you have opened the Windows Configuration utility, select the startup tab. Here we will be filtering through necessary and unnecessary startup items. It is important to know that the more you remove from your startup inventory, the faster your PC will perform. Therefore if you do not need any programs running from startup, you can select “Disable All” and you’re finished with this part. If you would somewhat go through each entry independently to determine whether or not you need it, you can do so by quickly researching each startup entry using the following website’s search bar.

(4). CCleaner Installation Options In this step we are going to use a helpfulness to remove temporary files and errors that may slow down your computer. The usefulness is named CCleaner and can be found here: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloading Once you have downloaded the file, install it and be sure to un-select any installation options you may not want. I usually un-check all of the options except “Create Desktop Shortcut”.

(5). Once you have installed CCleaner, open the program using the shortcut that should now be on your desktop. Once the program opens, make known you with the interface. It it pretty user friendly and only has a few options we will use. Once you have familiarized yourself with the program, choose “Run Cleaner” at the bottom-right hand side to start cleanup. This may take a few minutes so please be enduring. (If a warning message appears, dismiss it by selecting “OK”)

(6). After you have run CCleaner, we are going to search for errors in what is called your “Registry”. These errors can often slow down the general presentation of you system, as well as its response time. To do this, find the “Registry” button on the left-hand pane of the main program window and click it.

(7). Once you are in the “Registry” portion of the program, click on “Scan for Issues” to look for for any errors that may reside in your registry. This scan may also take a few moments. Once the scan have finished, click on “Fix Selected Issues…” You will now be encouraged with an option to Back Up your registry. Always click “Yes” and save in a location you can find. Now click “Fix All Selected Issues” and “Yes” to corroborate. Once the process is complete, you may want to go through steps 6-7 again to catch any errors that were skipped in the first scan.

(8). At this point, I would recommend that you save and close all open applications and restart your computer. Once your computer has restarted, a message will show inform you that changes include been made to your startup. To prevent this from showing in the future, check the box and click “OK”. Your computer should be clearly faster after this cleanup.

(9). If your computer is motionless slow, you may either have to little RAM (System Memory) or you could maybe have Spyware or a Virus. I will be working on a How-To on Spyware and Virus Cleanup.

Instructions

(1). to create a reinstate point before following this how-to, simply go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and select “Create Restore Point”.

(2). this is a precaution I highly advocate.

(3). Always back up your system before optimization and temporary file cleanup

(4). you can turn around any modify by using the system restores utility and the restore point you created.

You have most likely heard that tweaking your system you can considerably improve your PC’s presentation. Although, that declaration is true, do not try to do it just by moving settings or changing the system’s registry if you have no idea about Computer Diagnostics, or at least the basics of your system settings, use and misuse.

In cases like this, PC diagnostics software is mainly satisfying, because not only you can decide if there is any stoppage or wrong setting affecting your system presentation, but also to find where the settings are that you require modifying manually to improve the performance.

After administration the PC diagnostics for the first time, try to clean up your system registry on a daily basis. Most users are uninformed of the huge amount of ineffective information that the registry saves. Computer diagnostics frequently return a list of “orphan” entries proof in the registered and staying there eternally.

Those orphans are the result of installed and uninstalled programs with information that is keep in the registry, the same as vacant drivers, spyware and other matter causing conflicts that slow down the system. Running PC diagnostics software or editing the registry physically using regedit.exe or other utilities will help you to get better performance.

Yet, be watchfully making changes to the system register because you can reason major problems. That is why it is favorite that one uses Computer diagnostics request instead of doing a manual change of the settings.

Another problem grounds system slow down is a Recycled Bin full above the 80% mark. Due to the large amount of data that can be stored on modern hard drives, the second hand Bin usually sets up mechanically a large amount of disk space to let you throw away whatever you do not want… and sometimes what you want, superfluous by mistake.

You do not require any PC diagnostics software to know that your desktop wastebasket is almost full. Empty your Recycle Bin at least once a week to discharge hard drive space that get better PC speed presentation, even when Computer diagnostics tools are used, as they will not have to scrutinize the useless files when running.

Whether physically or with the aid of PC diagnostics applications, one of the most tedious, but essential tasks to do in order to get better your PC performance is run your disk defragmentation. Due to the large size of actual hard drives, this procedure may appear never ending so run it once quarterly, but do it.

Some PC diagnostics software includes a defrag utility, otherwise you require to use that which is part of the Windows operating system, but before starting you need to run another native PC diagnostics request “scandisk”. Without scanning your disk first for possible errors, defrag may refuse to continue its defragmentation habit.
