<p>When you use those computers, you don&#8217;t have to stand those inconvenient Windows sounds. You can switch them off during your start-up if you find them annoying.</p>

<p><strong>Necessary Things:</strong> Microsoft Windows, Computer</p>
<p><strong>(1).</strong> Go to the Start menu on the left-hand side of your computer screen.</p>
<p><strong>(2). </strong>Click &#8220;Control Panel&#8221; in the right column.</p>
<p><strong>(3). </strong>Sounds and audio devices screen shot Click on &#8220;Sounds and Audio Devices&#8221; within the control panel. Note: these choices are in order. It looks like a miniature black speaker.</p>
<p><strong>(4). </strong>Scroll down to the &#8220;Program Events Box,&#8221; and you will see a list of sounds under the &#8220;Windows&#8221; heading. To turn off the start up and login sounds you more frequently than not hear, click &#8220;Start Windows,&#8221; and select &#8220;None&#8221; from the drop-down box. And, “Windows Logoff&#8221; and select &#8220;none&#8221; respectively.</p>
<p><strong>(5). </strong>If you want to turn the &#8220;Windows Logon&#8221; sound off, click that choice and select &#8220;None&#8221; once again from the menu on your screen.</p>
<p><strong>(6). </strong>To turn off the Windows shut down noise, click &#8220;Exit Windows&#8221; from that same menu in the other steps and select &#8220;None&#8221; from the same drop-down menu.</p>
<p><strong>Instructions </strong></p>
<p><strong>(1).</strong> Experiment with other sounds or turn off more sounds as needed. Use the drop-down box to explore more Windows sounds.</p>
